THE APPLICATION OF THE ATEX NORMS ON THE AIR FILTRATION ISSUES IN THE PRODUCTIVE PROCESSES
In the respect of the new ATEX (94/9/CE and 99/92/CE) European rules, which have radically changed the approach to the working environment safety (where gases, flammable liquids or dusts are used), ICAM has prepared a range of plant engineering solutions, suitable to answer to the new directives, both for gases and for dusts treatment and for every fields of interest.
Many people think that explosive atmospheres are formed only by dangerous products such as fuels or solvents, indeed normally harmless materials, such as wood dust, flour, sugar, light metals (such as aluminum or magnesium), composites, fiberglass, carbon fiber, .... can form explosive atmospheres sometimes causing serious accidents.
The presence of an exhaust suction system, if properly sized and positioned near the source of emission, will lead to a significant decrease in the probability of formation of the danger zone and, thereby, to its declassing in proportion to ventilation effectiveness and availability.
To meet the requirements of UNI EN 1127-1 on prevention and protection against explosion, ICAM adopts the following key design logics:
- Explosion resistant design
- Explosion discharge
- Explosion suppression
- Prevention of the spread of fire and explosion
The choice of equipment is determined by the type of dust / gas to be treated and its index of dangerousness.
The various experiences learned in the reclamation of all forms of pollution and the in-depth knowledge of current technologies and innovative existing solutions allow us to propose us as a resolutive partner in various sectors, by applying specific or standardized solutions with total warranty of success.
